Adam, Adam, Adam,Adam.
Now Danny will be there too!!
Kris is safe. And its a toss up but I think Allison, with her voice and her youth should stay, but Simon says"Gone."
I think Matt should be gone but who cares now. Top two exceed the bottom three by a wide margin.

Josh Turner Concert - Joliet

Yesterday was the Josh Turner Concert in Joliet. It was great!!
I got to the theater early so I stood around in the lobby waiting to see if I knew anyone coming into the theater. Well sure enough I spot a cowboy dude named Mike who is a double for Trace Adkins. I have seen Mike at several Trace concerts as well as at Country Thunder in Wisconsin. Mike walks around Trace's concerts and poses for pictures when asked by the cowgirls. Trace has even pleasently acknowledged Mike during his concert. Well soon I spot two friends of Mike's who I met last year at a couple of concerts and who are really great ladies, Debbie and Betty. We talked for a while about concerts we each have gone to recently then I found out that Debbie is going to go to the big Nashville Fest soon. How lucky! Betty is going to see Keith Urban in May (me too) at the Allstate Arena and then her and her husband have planned a trip, with their 14 year old, to Washington DC. What a perfect time for the student. Well it was getting time to take our seats for the opening singer, Dean Brody was due out.
Oops I forgot I need to get a Josh T-shirt.

And only $25. Not bad for a concert T.

Now once I found my seat I met two country ladies from Aurora who are really Josh fans but also real country music fans, Kathy and Crystal. They have been to Country Thunder for the past 5 or so years but aren't going this year because their husbands both work in the auto industry and as you know things are kind of up for grabs as far as layoffs. Good Luck girls!! Hope things work out for you and your husbands.

Now on with the concert!
Dean Brody sang some good old country music and also sang his first single which went on sale today. (Ask for it by his name.)
After an intermission Josh hits the stage. Wow !! Finally he's belting out several of his hits in his very very deep voice. Terrific!!!
The video he is singing "Me and God." Great song!!

Josh caused a little tear in my eye when he sang "Soulmate." Mine is waiting at Heaven's gate for me. She left me too soon in 2000 at a very young age.
Wow !! Great concert as usual! And thanks to Josh's wife Jennifer who accompanied Josh on keyboard and vocals.
You can check more out on Josh at his web site www.joshturner.com. If you like country music you got to go to the site.

Josh Turner Tonight !!!

Josh Turner is back tonight in Joliet. Got to go again! Turner's drive to "carry on" has led to his latest CD, Everything is Fine. The album is grounded in the traditional music from his grandparents' record collection he heard growing up, with the addition of fresh sounds that speak to today's music fans. Everything is Fine captures his personal music style more than ever.

Dierks Bentley

Dierks Bentley grew up in Phoenix, listening to George Strait and Hank Williams with his dad. He moved from listener to player when he picked up an electric guitar at 13. He started out playing the music his classmates listened to, mostly rock, until a friend played him the Hank Williams Jr. song, "Man to Man."

Bentley moved to Nashville, Tenn., at 19 where he became discouraged with the Nashville music business. It was there at a low point, he stumbled on the Station Inn, a club that is in many ways a "mecca" for bluegrass fans worldwide. He took some of what he learned from bluegrass and applied it to the country music. He dug deeper into the music to learn more about the artists who came before him. It didn't hurt that his day job at The Nashville Network (TNN) involved searching through old footage of country performances.

As his songwriting improved, he recorded a demo, which led to a publishing deal. In 2003, Capitol Nashville released his self-titled debut album, which featured his successful first single, "What Was I Thinkin'?"

In 2005, Modern Day Drifter boosted his profile, due to the hits "Lot of Leavin'
Left to Do," "Come a Little Closer" and "Settle For a Slowdown" -- all the while maintaining his extensive touring profile. He won the CMA Horizon Award in November 2005 and eloped to Mexico with his high school sweetheart a few weeks later.

In 2006, he released his third album, Long Trip Alone, with the hit "Every Mile a Memory."

Dierks will be at the First Midwest Bank Amphitheatre on August 7th. ROCK with DIERKS in Tinley Park!! Also check Dierks out on MySpace.com/dierksbentley

This is a Celebration of the Life of Donald Oglesby, my good friend who was a great man. Don pasted away on March 19th after a short illness.Don's favorite song by George Strait "The Cowboy Rides Away" (It's on Itunes).
Here's Don's favorite poem.
It's called "The Quitter" written by Robert W. Service it's from a book of Robert's poetry given to Don by his grandmother. Don kept this book on his bedside table for many years and often read several poems thoughout his adult life.

Academy of Country Music Awards show !!

Did you catch the Academy of Country Music Awards show last night? Well it was terrific. What an opening with Brooks & Dunn then Taylor, Sugarland, Carrie Underwood, and Rascal Flatts.
Great songs by Heidi Newfield "Johnny and June" and Jamie Johnson "In Color" Song of the Year.

Top Vocal Rascal Flatts (one of the best concerts I've seen) and then the legend GEORGE STRAIT who is the Artist of the Decade singing "Troubadour."

Jamie Foxx added his great humor with a joke about black guy's in country and a black guy in the White House. HaHa !!

I'll have more to say about the show after I watch it again. (Just thinkin' how do you like the picture of Ronnie Dunn, Me & Kix Brooks?)

Sugarland

Jennifer and Kristan really rocked the WTTW studios last night performing for their Soundstage digital taping on PBS Soundstage later this year.
The concert lasted about 2 hours with short stops to change the digital tapes.
Jennifer is the bomb! She has so much energy and she never stopped dancing. Kristan had a lot of play with the audience and the two sang about 15 of their popular songs. Of course "Stay" was the favorite but I really liked "It Happens."
"Down in Mississippi" really rocked and was Dope !!
Sugarland will be touring with Kenny Chesney this summer and will be at Soldier Field June 13th. CHECK IT OUT !!!
