American Idol Top 6 Results

Wednesday Night's American Idol Results show featured some really great Country Stars. Rascal Flatts with Shakira, Lady Antebellum, and the group formerly know as "The Clark Brothers" who are now know as "Sons of Sylvia" and who open for Carrie Underwood. They are very talented guys.

Now for the results, the bottom three were Siobhan Magnus, Casey James, and Big Mike Lynche. Ryan sent Big Mike back so he stayed in the contest. And then Siobhan was told she was going home. O well, someone has to go home but I thought Siobhan was safe with the strong following she has but America's girls like the Crystal and the guys.

Next week Harry Connick Jr with songs by Frank Sinatra.

American Idol Top 6

Last week's American Idol Gives Back received $45 million dollars in pledges to help the less fortunate people around the world. Tuesday night's progam began the last month of this year's Idol's contest.

The top 6 Idols performed to Shania Twain's music. Shania, one of Country Music's best female singer, was the guest mentor and offered some good advice to the contestants.

This will be the toughest week for picking the one Idol to go home. They all did a good job with Casey probably performing the best. Ok here's my thoughts.
Lee DeWyze opened with "Your Still The One." The judges said it was a good choice for Lee and that he made it his own.
Casey James picked "Don't" and the judges thought it was Casey's best performance and a great song choice. Kara "the Cougar" was all smiles.
Aaron Kelly did a good job with "You Got Away" and the judges liked the song choice and Simon said Aaron should pick Country as his genre.
Big Mike Lynch sang "It Only Hurts When I'm Breathing" (one of my favorites) and the judges thought Big Mike was in the zone and it sounded like Luther. Simon thought it was "wet." WHAT?
Crystal gave a good Country performance with "No One Needs To Know" and the judges said it wasn't her best but still really like Crystal.
Siobhan Magnus tackled " Any Man Of Mine"ending the sing with her very high loud note. The judges really liked Siobhan's performance but Simon added that the high note sounded like she was giving birth. NOW HOW WOULD HE KNOW?

Tough call on going home but I guess Aaron. Big Mike could be gone if the young kids vote for Aaron.
We'll see!

The Rockin' Old Man on America's Got Talent!

The "America's Got Talent" Show was in Chicago today and will be in town tomorrow taping for the upcoming season. Host Nick Cannon, judges Piers Morgan, Sharon Osbourne, and this years third judge, Howie Mandel all arrived at America's Got Talent's last stop for auditions.

The Rockin' Old Man was on the program. No, not as a contestant but in the audience. I had the opportunity to greet Piers Morgan with a handshake, greet Sharon Osbourne with a kiss, and greet Howie Mandel with a fist pound.

What an honor!!

Now some of the acts that were put throught to Las Vegas were: A family of 11 kids who sang and were joined by their little 10 year old brother who Piers say must join the group for the next show. Howie asked where the parent's were and asked if they where busy working on another kid. HaHa !!

A Blues group with a mama who swung her Booty all around.

An unique dancer who had great stage presence and got good feedback from the three judges.

A dancing Mad Scientist who turned water into snow while dancing (he didn't however, walk on water).

And a snake man who set a guiness record by holding 12 rattle snakes in his mouth for 40 seconds.

The show is scheduled to start June 1st on NBC. I'm not sure when the Chicago tape will be on but watch for "The Rockin' Old Man."

America Idol Gives Back & Results

Wednesday nights "American Idol Gives Back" featured several stars that included Queen Latifah who co-hosted from a remote location. Also featured were Elton John, Black Eyed Peas, Carrie Underwood, Alicia Keys , who mentored the Idols Tuesday, Mary J Blige, Jennifer Garner, Jeff Beck & Joss Stone, who's duo of "I Put A spell On You" was really dope. George Lopez did a good number with judging the judges and made them all safe from going home. It was funny.
The Top 12 Idols were reunited to sing "Keeping The Dream Alive" and it was pretty good.
An appearance by the "Octomom" was a big mistake even if it was for charity.

Ok now the bottom three: Casey James, Aaron Kelly, and Tim 'the teflon kid" Urban.
Aaron was sent back right away by Ryan and Tim was sent home.
On to next week and the bottom 4.

BTW I gave"snap" did you? Call 1-866-436-5243 and give. Save a kids life!!

American Idol Top 7

Tonight's American Idol had the great Alicia Keys as the mentor for the contestants with the theme of inspirational songs. Alicia offered her help and a few of them took her advise, like Lee and Mike.

Casey James opened with Fleetwood Mac's "Don't Stop" and played his guitar as usual but missed tonight's theme and didn't impress the judges.

Lee Dewyze did a great job with Simon and Garfunkel's "The Boxer" and the judges agreed Lee made the right song choice, gave a great performance, and has grown into a great artist.

Tim Urban did a karaoke version of the Goo Goo Dolls "Better Days" and the judges didn't care for Tim's performance.

Siobhan Magnus took on Whitney and Mariah's "When You Believe" and her vocals were good and a lot of inspiration for her in her performance, but somehow she always sounds the same. The judges were confused.

Aaron Kelly sang R Kelly's "I Believe I Can Fly" and it was ok but Aaron has no charisma. The judges said he has a big voice and I think the girls will keep him in the hunt but he doesn't have a chance.

Big Mike Lynche strummed the guitar and sang "Hero" good enough that he probably will move on.

Crystal Bowersox who will be the next American Idol (unless Lee beats her out) did another phenomenal job with a stand alone version of "People Get Ready" and of course got all the judges to agree she hit it out of the park. Crystal finally showed some emotion and let the tears flow at the end of her song.

Bottom three: Casey James, Tim Urban, and Soibhan Magnus. Guess it doesn't matter who goes home because this contest is down to Lee and Crystal. My guess Casey cause he's the oldest of the three.

We'll see tomorrow night on the two hour American Idol Gives Back.

AS I MATURE !!

I've learned that you cannot make someone love you. All you can do is stalk them and hope they panic and give in.

I've learned that no matter how much I care, some people are just big uncaring jerks.

I've learned that regardless of how hot and steamy a relationship is at first, the passion fades, and there better be a lot of money to take its place.

I've learned that you can get by on charm for about fifteen minutes. After that, you'd better have a big w***y or huge b**bs. (***ill **oo)

I've learned that it takes years to build up trust, and it only takes suspicion, not proof, to destroy it.

I've learned that you shouldn't compare yourself to others - they are more screwed up than you think.

I've learned that we are responsible for what we do, unless we are celebrities.

I've learned that people you care most about in life are taken from you too soon and all the less important ones just never go away.

I've learned that 99% of the time when something isn't working in your house, one of your kids did it.

I've learned to forgive.

American Idol Results

Wednesday's Idol results show had a mixture of music. A nice duet by Brooke White and Justin Gaston. Singing Elvis' "If I Could Dream." I liked it but it wasn't close to the Celine Dion-Elvis Duet from a few years ago.

Here's the video of Celine and Elvis, remember?

"If I Could Dream"

And then a rock performance by Adam Lambert singing his new single, "What Do You Want From Me."

-- What the hell was that???
I thought it was terrible, but just sayin'. I saw his video of this song and it was much better then his American Idol performance.

Here's his video.

"What Do You Want From Me"

Now for the results.
Andrew Garcia was the first sent home and rightfully so. He just didn't show real star quality and lacked energy in several of his performances.

The second one going home was Katie Stevens. Katie had some good performances but she needs more seasoning. She needs some additional vocal training. Both Andrew and Katie will be on the American Idol tour so check them out.

Next weeks guest mentor will be the great Alicia Keys.

American Idol Top 9 (Again)

Elvis is alive!!

Guest mentor for Tuesdays Elvis music was last years American Idol runner up, the flamboyant, Adam Lambert.

Opening the show, with her electric guitar, was the terrific Crystal Bowersox singing a great Elvis Gospel song "Saved." And again Crystal was right on!

Andrew Garcia followed with "Hound Dog" and he forgot it was ELVIS!!
Andrew lacked any energy and it was not good.

Tim Urban got all the "Teenie Boopers" crying with "Can't Help Falling In Love With You." To me, it was just ok.

Lee Dewyze, who lives right down the road in Mount Prospect,Illinois, cut loose with "Little Less Conversation." Lee brought it.

Aaron Kelly made a high school musical out of "Blue Suede Shoes."

Siobhan Magnus, sang "Suspicious Minds" and again showed her soft side and her great range but didn't please the judges.

Big Mike Lynche, who was saved by the judges last week, sang with deep feelings,"In The Ghetto." Ellen said she was glad they saved him and Simon said it was a trillion times better then last week.

"Sassy" Katie Stevens, who told Adam she was concerned with the previous critiques by the judges, let loose with "Baby What Do You Want Me To Do" and it was sexy and good vocals.

Casey James wrapped up the show with "Lawdy Miss Clawdy" but Casey changed the song so much it didn't even sound like Elvis' version and the judges weren't impressed.

Now two are going home since the judges used the save on Big Mike last week. So here's my picks for the bottom three: Andrew Garcia has run out of time. He should be sent home. Aaron Kelly will be gone also unless the "Teenie Boopers" save him. Last pick will probably be Siobhan Magnus and if Aaron stays then Siobhan is gone.

We'll see Wednesday.

American Idol To 9 Results

Tonight's Idols show featured David Archuleta and Rihanna.

David sang "Imagine"

(click below)
"IMAGINE"

and Rihanna

provided some good music last night before Ryan got down to the bottom 3.

Well it was a surprise to me. While I had Aaron Kelly and Andrew Garcia right in the bottom 3, I missed when Big Mike Lynche was announced as the third one in the bottom three.
The bigger surprise was that he was up to be sent home after all the votes were tallied. However, it just bares me out when I said "Teenie Bopper" girls are voting for the young kids. Andrew and Mike are , I think, the two oldest Idol contestants this year.
Now the judges had the option to save Big Mike and after a short deliberation, they decided to keep Mike in the American Idol contest.
Wow, I'm glad they did, cause Mike is better than several of the remaining Top 9.
I hope kids start voting for the best performer instead of voting for the cutest guy.
We'll see next week !!

American Idol Top 9

Top 9 Idols brought it Tuesday night and it was a tough choice for the bottom 3 since all but Andrew Garcis did pretty good.
Songs written by John Lennon and Paul McCartney were selected by the Idols. Once again 'Teenie Bopper' girls will determine who goes home. The show now has nothing to do with who is the best only who is the cutiest guy. So here goes, Aaron Kelly opened the show with "Long And Winding Road." His performance was not the best but with the young girls votes, he should be safe.

Big Mike Lynche sang "Eleanor Rigby" and hit his usual good performance. Kara said Mike was "On Fire."

Tim Urban, who should have been gone already, did a good job with his electric guitar and selection of "All My Lovin."

Casey James did a terrific job with John Lennon's "Jealous Guy" which, I think, he was singing to his Cougar Kara. Simon said it was the best of the night, Randy said it had a good Blues sound, and Kara said it had a lot of Soul.

Lee Dewyze brought out the bag pipes to accompany him with "Hey Jude" and got good comments from all judges except Simon who thought Lee should have eliminated the pipes.

Andrew Garcia soloed "Can't Buy Me Love" and it was probably the song that sends him home.

Katie Stevens did a good job with "Let It Be" and got her best comments to date from the judges.

Crystal Bowersox, who I think is the next American Idol, again gave a great performance with"Come Together" and was accompanied by Ernie Fields Jr. with a Didgeridoo, a wind instrument developed by Indigenous Austrailians at least 1500 years ago.

Siobhan Magnus brought a tender, controlled song,"Across The Universe" that show cased her vocal abilities.

Now for the bottom three: My guess, Aaron Kelly, Soibhan Magnus, and Andrew Garcia with Andrew going home.

Tomorrow night Rhianna

and David Archuleta

will perform and we'll see who goes home.
