Do You Think This Is Funny?

Someone I know thinks she is funny so she is trying Improv.
Below is a little video. Do you think it is funny?? She's 45+, do you think she's to old for this or maybe a cougar? The pudding joke is a repeat. (Most of these kids are college age or early 20's.) Check out the Tina Fey wannabe, glasses and all.(click on line below)

Joliet was in "Kansas" Friday Night

Joliet was in "Kansas" Friday Night when the group performed at the Rialto Square Theater. A sell-out crowd joined in early Christmas celebration when they entered the theater where beautiful Christmas decorations and two beautiful trees filled the lobby. The early arriving "Kansas" fans enjoyed their favorite beverage before the concert began.
Of course it was t-shirt time and their new CD "There's No Place Like Home."
Here are a few fans who were my neighbors for the night. The couple in the black coats were here for their first "Kansas" concert.

This girl is a real "Kansas" fan and had attended another "Kansas" concert a few days ago in Southern Illinois. Her friends were in the "pit" and she was trying to get the usher to let her sit there too but adjusted to her seat right in front of me. She lives in Glenview.

And she was trying to get by this usher so she could get with her friends in the pit but no luck !!

Ok on with the show!!
Here's the boys as they opened as the group "Native Window"

(excuse the audio which was not to clear in the theater)

The opening act called "Native Window" surprised the crowd as the group consisting of four "Kansas" members; Billy Greer, Dave Ragsdale, Rich Williams, and Phil Ehart performed on the front stage for about 25 minutes. Phil joked about how the group "Kansas" were much old then them and not as handsome!

After a short intermission "Kansas" appeared and were at their best.

The One and Only - JOAN RIVERS !!

Boy they did a lousy job on my face !! Joan's is good though!!

Joan Rivers was at her funniest last Friday at the Raue.

Her comedy act kept the audience laughing the whole night. Classic Joan asked for any gay men to come sit up front because they laugh at all her jokes while she asked any lesbians to sit way in the back because they don't laugh!!

Joan then proceeded to go through several people groups ( old, handicapped, actresses, actors, men, women, and kids) causing unending laughter throughout the whole show.
Her favorite word of course was F--- and although the audience was a good mix of people most people didn't mind her language.

A little background on Joan this year thus far, Rivers has had 2 books published; Men Are Stupid and They Like Big Boobs:A Woman's Guide to Beauty Through Plastic Surgery and Murderat the Academy Awards:A Red Carpet Murder Mystery, bothto high praise and enthusiastic reviews. Joan also won the title The Celebrity Apprentice in the NBC-television hit series, where she appeared with her daughter Melissa. She is currently filming a new reality show entitled How'd You Get So Rich?, that premiered on TV Land in August.

Joan's most joyous triumph is being grandmother to Melissa's son, Cooper (Edgar Cooper Endicott), who was born on December 1, 2000.

KISS !!

Buckcherry opened for Kiss Friday night at the United Center and got the fans ROCKIN'.

Joshua Todd and the dudes brought some heavy Rock to the stage.

Josh came out with a shirt on but when he took it off it was apparent that he didn't need a shirt cause the tattoo's covered his whole body!!

Then it was Gene and KISS !!
Several fans came with their KISS faces on.
The pyrotechnics were great, guitarist Tommy Thayer made 3 cannon shots out of his guitar one of which brought some of the lighting system crashing down to the stage!!
Drummer Eric Singer's solo was great with his stage platform turning as he pounded away.
Paul Stanley bare-chested as usual, said "If you came here tonight to hear some band tell you to end world hunger, you are out of luck" (was that a shot at U2?).
Gene Simmons worn his 60 pounds of demon regalia and sang his solo and of course the blood came slowly out of his mouth and then covered his chin and chest. Now Gene was hoisted up to the lighting area and finished his posing and solo.
KISS played several of the songs from their new CD, SONIC BOOM.
But the oldies where the best and got the biggest cheers, whistles, and howls!!!
Here's Friday's set list.
1. Deuce
2. Strutter
3. Let Me Know
4. Hotter Than Hell
5. Shock Me
6. Calling Dr. Love
7. Modern Day Delilah
8. Cold Gin
9. Parasite
10. 100,000 years
11. I Love It Loud
12. Black Diamond
13. Rock and Roll All Night

Encore

14. Shout It Out Loud
15. Lick It Up
16. Love Gun
17. Detroit Rock City

Overall it was a good concert but I think the AC/DC concert was better.
Just sayin'.

STEVE MARTIN and the Steep Canyon Rangers

mark humphrey/AP

Entitled, " An Evening of Bluegrass & Banjo", Thursday night was the STEVE MARTIN Banjo show at the Cadillac Palace in Chicago. Steve and THE STEEP CANYON RANGERS played 15 Blue Grass songs alone with 3 encore songs, several from Steve's CD "The Crow". Steve added just enough humor between songs to really make this show move to quickly. The 1 hour 20 minute's was quite short (maybe not for continuous banjo music) and it really flew.

Steve opened saying his agent was upset when Steve told him he wanted to do a banjo tour. He went on to say that the group had been on the road for 3 weeks but was corrected by the Rangers who told him 3 days !!! HaHa!!

Steve was amazed that his suit pants butt never got wrinkled since the beginning of the tour and the plane ride and even while sitting in the dressing room. Steve explained, " I must have a HOT ASS". HaHa!!, good old Steve Martin humor!!

Now for the music. The Steep Canyon Rangers, a great blue grass group from North Carolina, provided hand clapping, foot stomping, music. You can check the Rangers out here:

STEEP CANYON RANGERS

The group is made up of Woody Platt (guitar and lead vocals), Nicky Sanders (Fiddle and harmony vocals), Mike Guggino (mandolin and harmany vocals), Graham Sharp (banjo and harmony vocals), and Charlie Humphrey III (bass and harmony vocals). Steve mentioned that Charlie's bass was also a refrigerator for the tour and later in the show Steve asked Charlie for a banana and Charlie opened a small hole in the back of the bass and pulled out a banana and gave it to Steve. Just plain funny !!!

Woody sang lead on "Daddy Played the Banjo" which is one of the songs on Steve's "The Crow" cd.

Steve sang his great children's hit "Late for School" and "Wally on the Run"
(also on the cd).
Steve's banjo playing ability was highlighted when he played "Clawhammer Medley". Here Steve was having a little trouble with his electronic tuning which he said also gets his email for him. Now isn't that typical STEVE humor!!!

Then the whole group joined in for "Calico Train" and "The Crow".

Two of the encore songs really get the audience rompin' and stompin'. One was "Orange Blossom Special" which Steve said he kept wondering why he hadn't written it until one morning he woke up and thought "I did write that, I think". More Martin Humor!

The other great one was his big movie hit song, "King Tut".

So here's an earlier video of "Orange Blossom Special".
Enjoy and check Nicky Sanders great job with the fiddle that got a standing ovation here at the Palace!!!

ORANGE BLOSSOM SPECIAL - part 1

ORANGE BLOSSOM SPECIAL - part 2

And then the show was over, just to short and it went by to fast !!!

STEVE KEEP THEM FINGERS MOVING !!!

INCREDIBLE !!!!

This video is almost unbelievable. Make sure your sound is turned on !!!
See how all the balls wind up in catcher cones.

This INCREDIBLE machine was built as a collaborative effort between the Robert M. Trammell Music Conservatory and the Sharon Wick School of Engineering at the University of Iowa.. Amazingly, 97% of the machines components came from John Deere Industries and Irrigation Equipment of Bancroft, Iowa... Yes, farm equipment!!

It took the team 13,029 hours of set-up, alignment, calibration, and tuning before filming this video but you can see it was WELL worth the effort. It is now on display in the Matthew Gerhard Alumni Hall at the University and is already slated to be donated to the Smithsonian.
BELIEVE IT !!!!

You Got Whacked !

Here's a funny one and it has a little Tony Bennett background music !!

JERRY SEINFELD

photo Jim Cooper/AP

Have you ever laughed so hard tears rolled down your face and you couldn't stop laughing?? Well that is what happened to me at Jerry's show. My stomach still aches from laughter.
Now I have seen a lot of comedians in my life but Jerry Seinfeld is without a doubt the funniest guy I have ever seen !!!
His humor is untouchable.
He joked about kids, marriage, old people, medicine's, and to many other things that were just plain FUNNY.
Here's just one line from his show that I thought hits life right on the head, "did you know that marriage sucks and is great are close to being the same."
Think about it. He's right !!!

He went on to give another example of sucks and great, saying "did you ever buy an ice cream cone and have it drop on the ground, and you say, well thats sucks-----
just great." (sorry my description can't bring the same humor as Jerry's delivery)
Then he told about "the ads on TV for Cialis. You see a picture of a happy couple each sitting in their own hot tub, smiling and holding hands on top of a mountain. NOW WHO THE HELL HAS TWO HOT TUBS? And if I had to lug those cast iron things up that mountain I'd be to tired for sex too!!!"
"And then the warning, if your erection lasts longer than 4 hours see your doctor. I WONDER WHAT THE HELL HE'S GOING TO DO?" " If I had an erection lasting 4 hours I would see Alice, and Mary, and Elaine, and Sue, and Jennifer."

Jerry also told several jokes about his wife's Blackberry use and several jokes about his wife not liking "the tone of my voice".

He did several jokes about cell phones and their "dead zones", telling about how in the old days a kitchen wall phone had a cord on it and would only allow you to go so far because any further was a "dead zone".
And how the best feature the telephone company came up with was caller ID but then they invented caller ID block ! WHAT !!
And all us intelligent telephone people that made it *69. Ya, couldn't one telephone engineer say let's make it *68 or *70 nope got to be *69. Didn't any of these people go to junior high????

Ok, you know it was "TERIFFIC" so if you get a chance to see Jerry's standup routine, Don't miss it !!!!!!!!!!!!!

BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH !!

OCTOBER IS BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH !!! PLEASE GIVE A LITTLE OR A LOT> AND DON'T FORGET PANCREATIC CANCER ALSO !!!!

Chicago Country Fest Day 2

(takes a while to load because of the many videos)
Ok Day 2 Highlights, first "The White Saddle Band".

Next "Special Consensus"

Next a really good group from Minnesota, it's "Geoff Elvee".

That was the last of my afternoon entertainment.

Now I was standing in line waiting to get into the Petrillo Music Shell and met 3 very nice ladies. We had things in common like 2 of them worked for the telephone company. One still works for AT&T and the other one used to work for them. Just Like ME !! Now the third lady was visiting from Phoenix and all 3 loved Country music too. So here's their picture, Judie on the left, Sue in the middle, and Dee (the visitor) on the right. Wow, we had a great time rocking to "The Flatlander's and John Rich.

Ok so much for socializing now on with "The Flatlanders" featuring Joe Ely, Jimmie Dale Gilmore & Butch Hancock.

And now "John Rich" takes the stage!!

John then asked for a married couple to come up on stage, so this dude brings this girl on stage with him only to find out they don't even know each other !!

Then it was "Shuttin' Detroit Down"

And of course "Cowboy Troy".

"Save A Horse Ride A Cowboy"

And finally "Fred" the "Little Man Dirty Dancing"

The 2 Day Concert finally ends.

And as I was leaving Grant Park I see "Fred" riding his scooter with a young tomato (girl) sitting behind him. And I thought to myself, "O boy Fred is going to have fun tonight!"

Italian Woman are Tough !!

An elderly Italian man lay dying in his bed. While suffering the agonies of impending death, he suddenly smelled the aroma of his favorite ravioli wafting up the stairs.

He gathered his remaining strength and lifted himself from the bed.

Gripping the railing with both hands, he crawled downstairs.

When he reached the bottom of the stairs, he leaned against the door frame, gazing into the kitchen, where if not for death's agony, he would have thought himself already in Heaven, for there, spread out upon wax paper on the kitchen table were hundreds of his favorite ravioli.

Was it Heaven? Or was it one final act of his wife of sixty years, seeing to it that he left this world a happy man?

He threw himself towards the table, landing on his knees in a crumpled posture.

His parched lips parted, the wondrous taste of the ravioli was already in his mouth.

With a trembling hand he reached up to the edge of the table, when suddenly he was smacked with a wooden spoon by his wife who said:

"Va fanculo"

"Questi sono per il funerale."

(Translation - "Fu_ _ off. These are for the funeral.")

Billy Currington and SUGARLAND

Friday night was a trip to Milwaukee to see Billy Currington and SUGARLAND.

I had a chance to pickup some fresh vegetables at a Wisconsin roadside stand. Great stuff and I got some Wisconsin Cheese but not for my head, no "Cheese Head" for me I'm a BEARS fan!!!

Ok so I get to the Bradley Center and meet my good friends, Don, Helen, and their daughter Julie. Now these guys are REAL SUGARLAND Fans!! Don and Helen are heading to Vegas shortly and I hope they win BIG BUCKS !! Julie has to keep working but she travels a lot, in fact she just got back from KC and had a chance to see Luke Bryan another good country singer.

I head to my seat and get settled in when my Neighbors for the Night arrived. Jerri and Tony from Madison.

Tony is a drummer but is taking a little time off and he and Jerri are going to Mexico next week. Jerri for a conference and both for R&R. How neat !! Here I am stuck going to concerts. I better start traveling, hum, maybe Seattle !!

Now here are a couple other dancing fans who were Rockin' to Billy Currington but were there for SUGARLAND !!

Now we get to Billy Currington. You might have read about the tornado in Alberta Canada a few weeks ago that killed 5 people. Well Billy was there but survived the mess. (Check his jeans I think they were there too and pulled from the damaged stage!!)

And of course Billy's great hit"PEOPLE ARE CRAZY".

Now how about a little SUGAR !!

And then Jennifer and Kristian signed a new guitar and Kristian headed into the audience to give it to a lucky fan.

This little girl was TRILLED !!!

Another great concert comes to an end.

Next is the Chicago Country Fest on October 3rd and 4th in Grant Park Chicago. Then I have to wait for Jerry Seinfeld and then Steve Martin later in October. Keep Rockin' and keep checkin' my blog !!!!

You could never go to a better concert or see anything like the "CLAW" !

Two couples, who where my neighbors for the night, were from Aurora and where great "Elevation" fans as well as U2 fans.
And an usher in the section I was in, saw that I was eating peanuts so he came by and said " "Hey mister your "nuts" are on the floor" ". What friendly people.

The fans were great and of course it was a sell out. Check it out.

Snow Patrol opened and got the fans "Rockin".

And then highlighted their set with "Chasing Cars" which they dedicated to U2.

And now for the incredible "U2". Here's 3 video's of their opening.
