American Idol Top 10 Result

Usher along with Will IM sang a duet which was ok but Usher's dancing was not good. Maybe it was the boots.
P Diddy performed a new sing that is now out on Itunes. It was full of energy and not bad.

Ok now to the contestants.
Well Teflon Tim is still in the contest. WHAT THE HELL!!! American you are crazy keeping this guy around. He should have been gone 4 weeks ago. O well.

Katie Stevens was in the bottom three and was put back in the competition by Ryan.
That left Didi Benami and Tim Urban.
Didi has been better then Tim almost every week yet the young girls who watch this program don't vote on singing ability but on looks. Sorry Didi you should have stayed.

See you next week.

American Idol Top 10

Tuesday night was American Idol Top 10 night. The guest performer was Usher who did a pretty good job in helping the contestants prepare for their performances. His advice seemed to help several of the top 10 zero in on direct one on one contact with the audience including the TV camera.

Once again Crystal Bowersox blew the judges away with her piano rendition "Midnight Train To Georgia." She chose not to play the guitar inorder to show her versatility and she was great as usual.
Lee Dewyze got great reviews for his guitar singing of "Threat Her Like A Lady" after which Randy said he was the bomb and Simon said he was now in the competition.
Casey James was pretty good while singing "Hold On I'm Coming."
Big Mike Lynche again sang a tender love song which was a safe choice, "Ready For Love."
Andrew Garcia moved back into the competion with nice comments by Randy who called Andrew's performance 'Dope'. His song choice was Chris Brown's "Forever."
Katie Stevens had good vocals even with her old fashion song selection, Aretha Franklin's "Chain Of Fools."
Aaron Kelly, the kid, picked a safe song "Ain't No Sunshine when She's Gone."
Siobhan Magnus had a bad night with "Through The Fire" and took a lot of hits from the judges. I still think she is safe, but she should be in the bottom three with Didi Benami and Tim Urban ( He's still around?).
Didi's singing of "What's Become Of A Broken Heart" was pretty bad, but Tim Urban should go home.He sang Anita Baker's "Sweet Love" and continues to get beat up by the judges who can't figure out why he is still here. Ryan earlier made mention of people calling Tim "Teflon Tim."

Tomorrow night Usher will sing and one of the three (Maybe two, ya think?), will hit the road.

American Idol Final Touring 10

Miley Cyrus, Joe Jonas, and Demi Lovato provided the entertainment for the 6 to 13 year old kids. Miley, with her dad Billy Ray in the audience, sang "When I Look At You" which is in a new movie.
Joe Jonas and Demi Lovato sang a duet called"Make A Wave" which I'm sure the little kids loved.

Now for the bottom 3.
There was no doubt that Paige Miles and Tim Urban would be in here. Katie was a small surprise but she was sent back to the top 10 quickly by Ryan. I thought Andrew Garcia should have been in the bottom.

Paige Miles, who really had one of the worst performances ever in all the finals since American Idol began, was sent home and the judges did not even consider saving her. Tim Urban could have joined her too.

So the touring 10 will be:
Crystal Bowersox
Big Mike Lynche
Siobhan Magnus
Aaron Kelly
Casey James
Didi Benami
Lee Dewyze
Andrew Garcia
Katie Stevens
Tim Urban

Check in next week when Usher performs.

American Idol Top 11

Ok, tonight it was Miley Cyrus giving the contestant's advise and most of them didn't carry out the advise. The theme was Billboard's Top #100.
This competition tonight eliminated all but 5 who have any kind of chance at being this years American Idol.

Top pick was Crystal Bowersox, who again, blows me away. Without a doubt the best. Her song tonight was Janis Joplin's "Me & Bobby McGee." Here's the video.

"Me & Bobby McGee"

Siobhan Magnus is a natural performer and has an outside chance of winning. Only problem is sometimes she over does the high notes. Her song was Stevie Wonder's "Superstition."

Big Mike Lynche singing "When A Man Loves A Woman" was smooth and is right in his genre R&B.

Young Aaron Kelly will have the girls votes and Randy said he's a fan. Aaron sang Aerosmith's "I Don't Want To Miss A Thing."

Casey James gave a good performance, but didn't need the guitar, in singing Huey Lewis' "Power Of Love." Cougar Kara loves this guy .

Now the rest of these performers don't have a chance in hell of being the next American Idol. When you sing bad and Ryan asks you how you feel it went just say"I had fun, I had a good time."

Young Katie Stevens keeps moving along with her "Big Girls Don't Cry", but really!!

Didi Benami sang Linda Ronstadt's "You're No Good" and Simon repeated the title several times.

Lee Dewyze opened the show with the Boxtop's "The Letter" but he has no entertainer presence.

And three who should go home together; Andrew Garcia "Heard It Through The Grapevine" Marvin Gaye's big hit, Tim Urban "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" by Queen, and Paige Miles "Against All Odds" by Phil Collins.

Just a side note: Paige Miles and Tim Urban's performances were the worst ever on any previous American Idol finals.

American can't get this one wrong!!

It's going to be HOT !!!!

Joe Satriani and Vernon Reid

The Jimi Hendrix Experience's "Valleys of Nepture hits #4 on Billboards top 200. No other artists has cracked the top five this long after his death and it surpasses Elvis who hit #3 26 years after his death.

American Idol Results

David Cook opened the show with a Rolling Stones great hit "Jumpin Jack Flash." Finally a real Rolling Stones performance which we didn't see last night.

Orianthi performed her hit "According To You." She was on Michael Jackson's last video"This Is It" and is quite the guitar player. Watch a video of her song below;

"According To You"

Ke$ha the last guest performer, looks and acts like 'Lady Gaga' but with Rap in her new song "Blah,Blah,Blah" I didn't like it. Just me !!

Now for the results: Bottom three were Paige Mills, Tim Urban, and Lacey Brown and Lacey was not saved and was voted off. She pretty and has a good voice. I see her in the Country Genre.

See you next week for my Top 11 guess. Congrat's to Kevin Tor, who was on fire with his picks this week.

American Idol --- Top 12

THE "STONES" man, the "STONES."

The Rolling Stones are not just music, they are ENERGY too!!!

Big Mike Lynche opened with "Miss You" and he had some movement but until Siobhan Magnus came out and belted out "Paint It Black", I think Mick and the rest of the Stones were begging Keith for some joints!!!

Paige Miles had some movement with her song,"Honky Tonk Women" but no one else moved from the center of the stage. I fell asleep with Katie Stevens "Wild Horses", Didi Benami's "Play With Fire", Tim Urban's "Under My Thumb", Lacey Brown's "Ruby Tuesday", and Aaron Kelly's "Angie."

Andrew Garcia sang "Give Me Shelter" but was pitchy and not to good. Casey James was pretty good with "It's All Over Now" (Kara still has that 'cougar' look in her eyes for Casey). Lee Dewyze did alright with "Beast of Burden" and Crystal Bowersox closed the show with "You Can't Always Get What You Want" not her best but second best of the girls tonight. Siobhan Magnus by far the best of the girls tonight and Big Mike Lynche by far the best of the dudes.

Unless America gets it wrong again, Tim Urban goes home.

We'll see tomorrow (Green for St Patty's Day).

One Night Of QUEEN ~

Sunday night was a Rockin' concert of "Queen" music!!

Like many of the great 'Rock n' Roll' legends , Freddie Mercury passed away too early.

Gary Mullen formed "One Night of Queen" along with his band, 'The Works', in 2000 after he won the ITV's "Stars In Their Eyes" grand finale in England.

Over the past seven years "One Night Of Queen" has toured virtually non-stop around the UK,Germany,Portugal, Holland, Belgium, France, New Zealand, and through many parts in the United States playing to sell-out crowds most everywhere. Gary's tribute to Freddie is unparalleled. Here are some pictures and videos of the concert.
Also check out their site at http://www.onenightofqueen.com/ where there are great complete videos and more pictures!!!

If "One Night Of Queen" comes to your area, go see it cause it is really great !!

American English - Beatles Tribute

Have you ever seen "American English?" Last night the boys rocked the Raue Theatre and were teriffic as usually. They played for over 2 hours and had the audience dancin' and rockin'.
Here's a couple of video's of the group.

"SGT. PEPPER'S PSYCHEDELIC YEARS"

"WHILE MY GUITAR GENTLY WEEPS"

"REVOLUTION"

If you get a change, go see them and you have an entertaining and musical night!! You can check them out on www.americanenglish.com too. Do It!!

American Idol Top 12

Well the opening group number, Michael Buble's " Haven't Met You Yet" was teriffic!!
Get it on Itunes.

Now America, you got it WRONG!! 3 out of 4 were wrong in my opinion.
Paige inconsistant and Katie to young with not enough experience. Both should have gone home. Katelyn was better then both of them . And Lilly Scott was probably the second best girl behind Crystal Bowersox. Lilly will have a great career even after being sent home. Check Lilly out.

"I Fall To Pieces"

Alex Lambert should have stayed too but the guys were strictly popularity.

Hopefully America gets it right next week, there's to much at stake for these worthy contestants.

Guest appearances by Scott MacIntyre and Matt Giraud, two of last years Idols, did a great piano duo with Billy Joel's "Tell Her About It."

Tune in next week for the final 12.

American Idol --- Top 8 Guys

Tonight it was the guys turn and they were tough. The judges had good comments on all of them.

"Big Mike" Lynche ended the show with a teriffic redition of "This Women's Work."
Randy called it "dope", Ellen called it amazing, Kara was in tears, and Simon said it was the best to date. Check it out.

"This Women's Work"

Alex Lambert did a good job singing Ray Lemont's "Trouble."

Aaron bellowed Lone Stars "I'm Already There."

Tim Urban sang "Hallelujah," a good choice for his comeback.

Lee Dewyze gave a good opening with Adam Young's "Fireflys."

Andrew Garcia tackled Christina Aguilera's hit "Genie In A Bottle"
and did pretty good.

Casey James strummed while singing Keith Urban's "You'll Think Of Me" and again had Kara drooling.

And Todrick Hall put his dance moves into Queen's "Somebody To Love." Simon commented that Todrick's role should be on Broadway.

Now the bottom two are going to be a popularity contest since they were all pretty good, so I'll take a stab at Andrew Garcia and Todrick Hall, just a SWAG (Shitty Wild Ass Guess).

We'll see tomorrow night.

American Idol -- Top 8 Girls Turn

Tonight it was the top 8 girls turn.
Crystal Bowersox again was without a doubt the best.
She blew the socks off the rest of the girls with her Tracy Chapman "Give Me One Reason."

Here it is:

"Give Me One Reason"

Lacey Brown was pretty good with Randy Carmichael's "The Story."

Lilly Scott did her thing with a Patsy Cline song,"I Fall To Pieces."

Siobhan Magnus picked an old song by the Animals,"House Of The Rising Sun," and she did a good job with it.

Didi Benami recovered from a poor performance last week with Stevie Nicks (Fleetwood Mac's) "Rhianna."

Katelyn Epperly sang Carol King's "I Feel The Earth Move" but she could be in trouble.

However, it looks like Katie Stevens, who tried to pick a song closer to her age by singing, Kelly Clarkson's "Breakaway." It wasn't very good.

And Paige Miles rendition of Charlie Claplin's "Smile" was not good and I think she will be gone along with Katie.
We'll see.

Guys tomorrow night.

Some Jokes for the Guys

I took my wife to a great restaurant. The waiter, for some reason, took my order first..
"I'll have the strip steak, medium rare, please."
He said, "Aren't you worried about the mad cow?"
"Nah, she can order for herself."

My wife and I are watching "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire" while we were in bed. I turned to her and said,"Do you want to have sex?"
"No," she answered.
I then said, "Is that your final answer?"
She didn't even look at me this time, simple saying,"Yes."
So I asked,"Then I'd like to phone a friend."

I asked my wife,"Where do you want to go for our anniversary?"
It warmed my heart to see her face melt in sweet appreciation.
"Somewhere I haven't been in a long time!" she said.
So I suggested, "How about the kitchen?"

My wife hinted about what she wanted for our upcoming anniversary.
She said,"I want something shiny that goes from 0 to 200 in about 3 seconds."
I bought her a scale.

My wife and I were sitting at a table at her high school reunion, and she kept staring at a drunken man swigging his drink as he sat alone at a nearby table.
I asked her, "Do you know him?"
"Yes," she sighed,"He's my old boyfriend.... I understand he took to drinking right after we split up those many years ago, and I hear he hasn't been sober since."
"My God!" I said, "Who would think a person could go on celebrating that long?"

THE BROKEN LAWN MOWER

When our lawn mower broke and wouldn't run, my wife kept hinting to me that I should get it fixed.
But somehow I always had something else to take care of, first, the truck, the car, playing golf, always something more important to me.

Finally she thought of a clever way to make her point. When I arrived home one day, I found her seated in the tall grass, busily snipping away with a tiny pair of sewing scissors.
I watched silently for a short time and then went into the house. I was gone only a minute, and when I came out, I handed her a toothbrush. I said,"When you finish cutting the grass, you might as well sweep the driveway."

American Idol Results --- Top 16

Ok now Ameican Idol is down to 8 girls and 8 guys.

Really not any big suprises. Guys going home, John Park and Jermaine Sellers. Girls going home Michelle Delamor and Haeley Vaughn.

Highlight of the evening was an appearance by a top dog for last years show. Danny Gokey now recording Country at the suggestion of Randy Travis. Here's Danny new song. He picked the song and then found out the writer had recently lost his wife too. Danny lost his wife just before lasts years American Idol started.

"My Best Days Are Ahead Of Me"

Congrats to my friend Kevin Tor who got them all right. He was really on last year too. Kev keep it up!!

American Idol --- Top 10 Girls

Tonight it was the girls turn and there were several good performances.

Crystal Bowersox opened with a great Creedance Clearwater song, "As Long As I Can See The Light."
She was stoked and it could have been the best of the night.

Siobhan Magnus finished the evening for the girls with a great interp of Aretha Franklin's "Think." Siobhan blew the roof off in this song.

Several other girls did pretty good too and they make it tough on the voters. They were:

Lilly Scott who is very unique and as strong as Crystal. She sang Sam Cooke's big hit, "A Change Is Gonna Come."

Michelle Delamor did a good job singing Creed's "With Arms Wide Open."

Katelyn Epperly was good while playing the piano and singing Cold Play's "The Scientist."

Paige Miles rocked with Kelly Clarkson's "Walk Away" written by Kara.

Lacey Brown was ok with "Kiss Me."
Katie Stevens was ok with "Put Your Records On."

The bottom two should be, Haeley Vaughn who sang Miley Cyrus' "The Climb" and Didi Benami with a Bill Weithers song "Lean On Me".

Maybe tonight America got it right. Maybe Kevin Tor got it right too!
Ya think?

We'll find out tomorrow night.

Tuesday, March 2, 2010

American Idol--- Top 10 Guys Tonight.

Guys night tonight after one of the girls got sick. Tonight was a more "Not Good" night then a "Good" night.
Big Mike Lynche set the stage with a great interp of James Brown's "This Is A Man's World."
Lee Dwyze closed the show with a very good rendition of Hinder's "Lips of Angels.
"

Two young guys, Alex Lambert with John Legends "Everybody Knows"and
Aaron Kelly with The Temptations "My Girl" did decent jobs with their performances.

Now the "Not Good" group. John Park "Gravity", Casey James "I Don't Want To Be", Todrick Hall with Tina Turner's "What's Love Got To Do With It",Andrew Garcia with James Morrison's "You Give Me Something", Tim Urban "Come On Get High",and Jermaine Sellers with Marvin Gaye's "What's Goin' On."

Bottom two probably John Park and Jermaine Sellers. I know Kevin Tor will beat me with his picks. HaHa!!
One other comment "Facial Hair? " WHAT ?

Side note on the judges. Kara opened by saying a memo had been circulated to the judges about being a "COUGAR." I think she backed off her Cougar boy, Casey James and critized his song choice and calling his voice dirt after Simon said it sounded like sand. (No husband in the crowd tonight.)

Tomorrow night it's the top 10 girls turn.
